Memberships provide us with much needed regular income to support our work at the Species Recovery Centre based at Rewilding Coombeshead.
In return we keep our members informed of what we are doing through our Quarterly Newsletter and provide you a 10% discount code for use on stays with us at Rewilding Coombeshead. This applies to all membership categories.
As a member you will ensure the husbandry needs of our existing projects and nurture hope that we may continue our vital work in Native British Nature recovery, building a brighter future. Together we CAN and DO make a difference.
We understand that people’s means differ so we have different contribution levels available, paid by Direct Debit, being:
Species Champion Member
Our Species Champion Members help to support a specific species from birth to wild release at our Species Recovery Centre. Your support pays for the feed, shelter and husbandry of one of these native British species. Wild releases of harvest mice and white storks are scheduled in 2026 and 2027 and you will be fully informed of their progress as they transition from our breeding centre back into the wild. These are priced at £12/month and £25/month paid by Direct Debit.
All categories of membership receive the same benefits.
Harvest Mouse Champion
Our Harvest Mouse Champion Membership is £12/month payable by Direct Debit.
The endearing harvest mouse is the UKs smallest mammal weighing in at just 4-6g, its prehensile tail makes it an agile climber. It builds wonderful woven nests in the stems of tall grasses. Unfortunately changes in farming practices have led to a 70% decline in this species in the last 50 years. Rewilding creates the opportunity for reintroductions and our Species Recovery Centre is leading the way breeding many hundreds of harvest mice for release each year, but we need your help to do this.

White Stork Champion
Our White Stork Champion Membership is £25/month payable by Direct Debit.
The white stork is a large charismatic bird that makes characteristic nests on the roofs and chimneys of houses and on the tops of tall trees, long seen as a symbol of rebirth and a deliverer of babies. Common across Europe the white stork was extinct in the UK until this century. Now small a flock are successfully breeding again in Sussex, but their numbers need to be bolstered prompting our breeding and release of white storks in Devon.

General Member
We have two categories of General Members priced at £5/month and £10/month. This is to enable people to give within their means, the benefits received of both memberships are the same.

Our Mole Cricket Membership is £5/month payable by Direct Debit.
Glow Worm Member
Our Glow worm Membership is £10/month payable by Direct Debit.
